RAIN-UGANDA was informally begun in 2006 to address the immediate need for HIV education and testing in the area surrounding Mbale, Uganda. RAIN became an official NGO in Uganda in 2011. 

The RAIN team of Ugandan professionals doing outreach consists of 

  • A medical officer
  • 5-6 trained HIV counselors
  • 2 lab technologists
  • 3 nurse/midwives who conduct private cervical cancer and breast cancer screenings
  • 6-8 volunteers who assist with clients with registering and moving through the screening process.
