Our Mission

RAIN Uganda is an indigenous, non-profit, and non-denominational organization committed to empowering communities in Eastern Uganda. Our mission is to provide education, screening, and healthcare services for HIV, cervical cancer, malaria, and other public health concerns, focusing on the most vulnerable populations. We believe that access to healthcare and health education is a fundamental right for all, and we are dedicated to making that a reality in rural and underserved communities.

Our Vision

To create healthier and more informed communities through proactive health education, screening services, and empowerment programs. RAIN Uganda envisions a future where every individual has the knowledge, resources, and support to live a healthier life.

Our Core Values

  • Empowerment: We believe in empowering individuals and communities through education, resources, and support to make informed health decisions.
  • Integrity: We operate with transparency, accountability, and respect for all those we serve.
  • Collaboration: We work alongside community leaders, government officials, and local organizations to ensure our services reach those in need.
  • Sustainability: We strive for long-term impact by building local capacity and strengthening healthcare systems for future generations.

What We Do

RAIN Uganda operates in eight districts of Eastern Uganda, including Mbale, Budaka, and Pallisa, focusing on the following key areas:

  1. HIV & AIDS Education and Screening: We provide HIV education, screening, and support to ensure individuals are aware of their health status and can access appropriate care.
  2. Cervical Cancer Awareness and Screening: Our outreach programs help raise awareness about cervical cancer prevention and offer screening services to women, especially in rural areas.
  3. Malaria Prevention and Treatment: We work on preventing malaria through education and providing access to testing and treatment for those affected by this deadly disease.
  4. Sexual and Reproductive Health: We advocate for the sexual and reproductive health rights of individuals, particularly women, and provide essential services in family planning, maternal health, and gender equity.

Our Impact

Since our founding in 2010, RAIN Uganda has made a significant impact in the communities we serve. Our education and screening services have reached thousands of individuals, leading to early detection of diseases and improved health outcomes. We’ve trained local health workers, empowered women with knowledge about their health, and supported individuals in accessing necessary care. With each outreach program, we’re building healthier, more informed communities.
